and i'm a pc
everyone is criticizing microsoft for their recent advertising campaign. they say the first two commercials made absolutely no sense whatsoever and are a failure. i agree that it was lame. the news articles report that microsoft simply fired seinfeld in order to move on to phase 2 of the ad campaign.
phase 2 of the campaign seems to be going over better. in fact it has become an internet viral meme. this is the ultimate dream of any advertiser. there is much power in becoming a viral meme. i see this starting to become a meme because of a new website startup that is poking fun of the ad campaign. i also think the "I'm a pc" campaign is a good rebuttal to the "i'm a Mac" campaign.
it seems to me that the whole campaign wasn't a failure at all. i see it as a very clever strategy. the first part was a great diversionary tactic to get everyones attention then they drove the nail home with the second part. maybe i'm just thinking too much but either way the "I'm a pc" part seems to be fun.
despite my deep contempt for anything related to microsoft i'll share this new parody website with you. simply submit your phrase and the website completes it with "and i'm a pc". it's kind of funny.
oh, by the way, I'm running GNU/Linux and I'm a pc. hahahahaha
