i enjoy exploring distros in virtualbox and creating screenshot galleries. i use flickr because i like the way it works as opposed to picasa.
kiwilinux is basically ubuntu with some kiwi artwork and some non-free packages. it runs well in virtualbox.

hardy heron in virtualbox
i discovered something strange about running ubuntu 8.04.1 hardy heron in virtualbox. when i resize the virtualbox window the resolution of ubuntu automagically resizes to whatever size the VB window is. i'm not sure why it's doing this but i'm not complaining. it's pretty cool actually.
notice the strange resolutions, 1576x1103, 1472x1061, 1184x859, 1440x1050.

something happened
holy smokes, am i dreaming? did i strike a nerve with yesterdays post, or was it just my pisces intuition? ibm announces partnerships with linux distributors to deliver microsoft free computers. one article even used the same words as me, "make it happen". this sounds like good news if you ask me and a huge step in the right direction. i will be watching for these computers to hit the market.
here's the news links i've accumulated.
